Who is God? You may ask, especially if you were not
brought up in religious environment. You may have difficulty in
grasping the concept of God, because you might not believe in a
Creator or the power of His Holy Scriptures.
There are different scenarios when it comes to
explaining who God is and needless to say the reactions will also
vary.
Here are some scenarios:
1. God loves you but doesn't look past your sin:
The natural response would be, "how can a God of
love be judgmental and punish someone for doing wrong, no one is
perfect..."
2. God is the Creator of Heavens and Earth
A normal response would be, "If there really is a
God, why are so many bad things happening to so many good people"
3. God's Word is perfect and He is true to His Word
Response, "If that's true, why does the Bible
contradict itself so many times...?
The New Testament is very clear in describing WHO God is:
John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship
in spirit and truth."
1 John 4:8 He who does not love, does not know God, for God is
love."
1 John 4:16 "God is love, and he who abides in love abides in
God, and God in him.
Obviously, you will only believe the above scriptures, if you believe in
God, right? If you don't believe in God or His Word, then it won't
matter.
